We are seeking a student assistant to support a research project focused on analysing online forum texts in the domain of dementia.
Who we are:
The Institute of Data Science within the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences focuses on advancing data science methods, including machine learning, data modelling, data management, data fusion, data visualisation, etc. We are looking for enthusiastic students to assist in building a dementia-related dataset. This role is intended for candidates who may have little prior experience but demonstrate a strong interest in the subject matter.
Your tasks:
- Understanding and analysing the dementia text, scraped from the online dementia forum.
- Understanding the annotation scheme and annotating entities in the dementia text using a software tool.
- Documentation of your findings and working pipeline.
This is what you bring with you:
- Ongoing studies, primarily STEM subjects.
- Basic knowledge of using software tools, programming language (ideally Python ).
- Preferably, experience in the IT environment.
- Independent and structured way of working.
