
Josephine Thomas is leading the Machine Learning Group within the Institute for Data Science. Her research interests include machine learning on graphs and physics-informed learning with applications in but not limited to the electrical power grid and optimization of printed circuit boards.
Short CV:
Josephine Thomas received her appointment as a full professor in Machine Learning at the University of Greifswald in June 2025. Before joining the University of Greifswald she led the junior research group GAIN (https://gain-group.de/) at the University of Kassel. She received her PhD from the TU Dresden in 2017 and a diploma in physics from the TU Berlin in 2010.
